The Real You

(本心)

(d. ISHII Yuya / 2024 / 123min / 16 / Drama)

Director ISHII Yuya adapted HIRANO Keiichiro’s novel of the same title for his screenplay. An innovative human mystery that sharply pursues the merits and demerits of a digital society. Sakuya (IKEMATSU Sosuke) learns that his mother, Akiko (TANAKA Yuko), who passed away suddenly after saying she had something important to say to him, had chosen an elective death. Wanting to know the true feelings of his mother, who chose to die, Sakuya attempts to bring her back to life using a VF (Virtual Figure), a technology that creates a human being in a virtual space by collecting her personal data before her death.
