Otsukimi Tea Gathering

Now it is time for Otsukimi, moon viewing. It is a tradition dating from the Heian Period (794-1192). In Japan we celebrate Otsukimi on 15th August of the lunar calendar. We will hold a tea ceremony hosted by Ms TAKANO, an instructor of Urasenke, to celebrate Otsukimi and share this tradition with Malaysian people.

The Way of Tea, perfected by SEN Rikyu in the 16th Century, has been described as the Art of Living. The principles are Harmony, Respect, purity and Tranquility, which are universal principles.
