Turning 16 this year, the Japanese Film Festival (JFF) is set to light up selected Golden Screen Cinemas nationwide, once again boasting a broad collection of current and acclaimed titles across a variety of genres ranging from family to music to comedy, ready to capture hearts of audiences from all ages and giving the opportunity for everyone to enjoy the latest and finest Japanese movies on the big screen.
The Japanese Film Festival 2019 is part of The Japan Foundation, Kuala Lumpur's 30th anniversary since its establishment in Kuala Lumpur in 1989.
The Japan Foundation is a non-profit organisation established in 1972 with the purpose of promoting mutual cultural exchange between Japan and other countries. The Kuala Lumpur office was established in October 1989.
The primary objective of JFKL is to develop mutual understanding between people through culture and language within the region. The office also facilitates and supports the exchange of personnel and experts who work in the fields of Arts, Culture, Humanities and Social Sciences.
