JFKL Small Grant & Asia Center Small Grant Malaysia

JFKL offers grants to support activities that promote, introduce and deepen understanding of Japan, as well as to support projects that encourage multilateral cultural exchange between ASEAN and Japan. Grants are awarded to projects than fall within the fields of arts, sports, social sciences and the humanities.

The grants cover the following: honorarium, per diem, transportation, accommodation, venue & equipment rental fees, printing & publicity, and other expenses as agreed by JFKL.

Asia Center Small Grant Malaysia is a new grant programme.

Projects that promote/introduce/deepen understanding of Japan OR contribute  to  the  development  of  culture,  arts  and  intellectual  exchanges  with  Japanese guest/s or theme related to Japan.e.g. Invite Japanese guest to conduct performance, exhibition, artist residency (only in Malaysia from Japan), conference, film screening, workshop, masterclass, publication, lecture, and research. If no Japanese guest, then theme must be Japan-related.
RM500 to RM14,000 Registered Organisations in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei First Proposal: 3 months before the first day of the project

Submission of the Application Form: 2 months before the first day of the project

Asia Center Small Grant Malaysia
Bilateral/multilateral projects that encourage mutual understanding, grassroots exchange between citizens or students, and professional collaboration in Southeast Asia and Japan.

e.g. Joint arts & cultural activities by citizens or students, co-production/co-creation of performing arts or art projects, workshop and conference for professionals and students, and joint research trips (including travel to Japan and other Asian countries).

RM500 to RM30,000 Registered Organisations in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei First Proposal: 4 months before the first day of the project

Submission of the Application Form: 3 months before the first day of the project
