The two are inseparable, spending every waking moment together. Following a devastating volcanic eruption, the dog goes missing and the family is forced to flee the island without it. Separated from their beloved pet and struggling to adapt to life at an evacuation centre in Tokyo, they stave off their daily despair with a relentless hope to return to their hometown and reunite with Rock.
