The Weekend Japanese Film Show are back!

The Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur in collaboration with Golden Screen Cinemas, proudly bring you exciting films all the way from Japan. Different from the past years, this 2018, The Weekend Japanese Film Show 2018 will be held BIMONTHLY starting February 2018. It will take place at the new venue – GSC Nu Sentral, Kuala Lumpur and no worries people, the admission is still FREE! Below are the details of our very 1st movie screening for 2018.




(KAMEI Toru 亀井亨/2009/106 min (U) )

A film adaptation of the TV series which depicts the journey of middle aged man with a two-month old puppy in search of his mother who has run away from home.  Jiro, a reclusive, 35-year old unemployed man has never stepped out of his town and lives at home with his parents. After tragedy hits the family, his mother runs away and leaves behind a Mameshiba puppy, named Ichiro. With a red scarf around its neck, Ichiro turns out to be a puppy which Jiro’s runaway mother had sent for her family to come looking for her. Together with the cute bean sized Shiba-Inu, Jiro must venture outside to find his mother. This touching story has a rich lineup of established actors from TV dramas, films and stage performances under their belts, including SATO Jiro who stars in this film.
