DESCRIPTION:Brought to you by The Japan Foundation (JF)\, JFF+ INDEPENDENT CINEMA is a new free online streaming program featuring 12 Japanese independent films that you can enjoy for 6 months* starting from 15 December 2022 to 15 June 2023 for free! This new online streaming programme focuses on Japanese independent films to showcase the variety of Japanese film culture nurtured by the mini-theaters (independent theaters). The 12 films selected for this programme have graced the screens of mini-theaters in recent years\, highlighting the lifestyles of people and community issues against the backdrop of local climates and landscapes\, as well as films that pursue new cinematic expressions. To complement the programme\, we will also be showing interviews with directors\, actors\, and other creators who were involved with the films\, and articles on the mini-theater culture.\n\n \n\n  STREAMING PERIOD*  \nFrom 15 December 2022 to 15 June 2023\n*Streaming period divided to two terms with 6 films each:\nFirst term: 15 December 2022 to 15 March 2023\nSecond term: 15 March 2022 to 15 June 2023\n\n  ACCESS  \nFree of charge.
