The Japan Foundation, Kuala Lumpur (JFKL), Akademi Seni Budaya dan Warisan Kebangsaan (ASWARA), Japan Contemporary Dance Network (JCDN), and Embassy of Japan in Malaysia are proud to present WE’RE GONNA GO DANCING!! on 19^th & 20^th August. 

 

JCDN, a non-profit organization, was founded in Kyoto, Japan in 2001, aiming to act as a bridge between the art of dance and the society. The project “We’re Gonna Go Dancing!!” has started in 2000 with eight artists touring four cities in Japan. It keeps growing, and from 2007, this project started touring Asian countries.

 

This time, in KL, we’re presenting 3 pieces by Japanese dancers—Maki MORISHITA (“Debutante”), Masanori HOSHIKA (“Returnee”), and P’Lush (“Headache”)—and also 1 “new piece” which will be created during a 7 day workshop conducted by Ikuyo KURODA for ASWARA Dancers, Malaysia. 

 

Please come and enjoy a variety of pieces from Japan as well as the dance collaboration between Japan and Malaysia!
